Much public information is available now on-line. This includes property transactions, liens and grants, recorded easements and other important public records.

This site is an overall search engine for these records.

Use the Public Record Locater box in the upper left for your search string. For instance, I put in my county and state and got a list of:
•  court documents
•  census records (old)
•  a database of aerial photographs of the island's coastline
•  recorded documents

This will probably vary by state and county, but after a simple registration process I could access all records the county has be lastname, firstname.

I found all my mortgage and property transactions listed and could have looked at those of any other person as well.
None of us are as smart as all of us.

Not so good in Tennessee.  Picked up the neighbor who has lived here for twenty years, but not me, even though I've owned this place for almost five.

Although they promised more information if I had been willing to pay for it.
